A 41-ft. monolithic statue of Karyasiddhi Hanuman was consecrated on the premises of Sri Ganapathi Sachidananda Ashram at 11 a.m.
This is the second tallest Hanuman statue installed by Sri Ganapathy Sachidananda Swamiji.
Sri Swamiji had installed an 85-ft-tall Hanuman statue at Trinidad in West Indies in 2003.
From Andhra Pradesh
The stone for the statue here was sourced from Mellela village in Pulivendala, Andhra Pradesh. The semi-sculpted stone was transported to the ashram on a 90-wheel lorry.
Eighteen sculptors, led by chief sculptor Subramanya Achar, took about 10 months to complete the work on the statue, which weighs about 200 tonnes.
The statue stands on the roof of Karyasiddhi Hanuman Sannidhi, an octagon-shaped temple.
