Bhagavadgītā

“If the Upanishads present the aim and purpose of human life, the Bhagavadgītā indicates the way to attain them and live a life of fulfillment. By faithfully following that path shown by the Bhagavadgītā, man can make his life sublime, leave behind his footprints on the sands of time.”

The Vision

Parama Pūjya Śrī Swamiji envisioned the Gītā Mahāyajña program to empower children, youth & adults with the life transforming teachings from the Bhagavad Gītā. This vision of HIS gave birth to the SGS Gītā Foundation.

700 Shlokas, 10 months

As part of Gītā Mahāyajña, students learn all 700 verses of Bhagavad Gītā in 10 months. Authentic pronunciation, authoritative memorization and emphasis on meaning of Ślokas is the hallmark of the Mahāyajña program. For adults, the program offers a choice of fluent reading category wherein they chant with the assistance from the script.

The students, who successfully complete the final examinations, receive certificates and medals. Gītā Mahāyajña graduates are blessed with an opportunity to participate in the sampūrṇa gītā pārāyaṇa, a key event in the annual Gītā Utsav, conducted in the divine presence of Parama Pūjya Śrī Swamiji.

Building on Gītā Mahāyajña, SGS Gītā Foundation’s comprehensive sessions, on the deeper meanings of the Gītā, empower the Mahāyajña graduates to seamlessly apply its timeless wisdom to real-world challenges.
