About Us

Datta Yoga Centre at:

Blessed by our beloved Sadguru Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji, the Centre has been registered in 2007 with the objective of spreading the benefits of Healing Music & Kriya Yoga in Australia. DYC Australia is a "Non-Profit" Organisation and its objectives are achieved by involvement of volunteers & devotees who are working towards Sri Swamiji's mission. To begin with, DYC Australia organised Sri Swamiji's visit to Melbourne on 29th March 2008 for a live Healing Music concert as an initiative of DYC Australia's ongoing efforts in the field. Sri Swamiji is an exponent in healing music therapy and known around the world for many years. Sri Swamiji performed with a group of accompanying maestros in instrumental music.

Being the first of its kind in Melbourne, this concert was a free for a Public Mega Event. The concert was held at Robert Blackwood Hall in Monash University at Clayton and was attended by more than 1200 people. This concert gave a good insight to the community about healing music and its efficacy on the well being of an individual. Workshops on Music therapy & Kriya Yoga were held and was a great success too.

Key Benefits of the Concert & Kriya Yoga:

  • The most prominent benefit of every concert would be healing effect/enhancement of the feeling of 'Well-Being' which was the feedback given by many people who attended the concert.
  • Awareness of the benefits of Healing Music to the general public of Melbourne was created as a Long Term benefit.
  • People who attended the Kriya Yoga workshops found it highly beneficial and the Simple Breathing Technique & postures were easy to learn with maximum effect.
  • Music Therapy workshop was unique in its own way and gave a good insight about the benefits of healing music and how it can be adopted in day to day life by everyone for general well being of a person as well as enhancing the healing effect for specific health problems.
